1 | AITRICS Receives Medical Device Approval for AITRICS-VC in Malaysia
AITRICS received Class C medical device approval from Malaysia's Medical Device Authority for its AI-based patient deterioration prediction tool, AITRICS-VC (VitalCare). The software analyzes hospital EMR data to flag high-risk patients early, and this marks its sixth regulatory approval across international markets, following a recent clearance in Indonesia. The approval comes as Malaysia continues building out its national digital health infrastructure under its 2023 Health White Paper policy.
2 | WHOOP Expands Health Platform with On-Demand Clinician Access and New AI Features
WHOOP announced a set of updates to its platform, including on-demand video consultations with licensed clinicians launching in the U.S. this summer, and EHR syncing through a partnership with HealthEx that lets members access their clinical history within the app. On the AI side, the company introduced "My Memory," which allows users to manage personal context for coaching, and "Proactive Check-Ins," which surface timely recommendations based on that context. Additional updates include a redesigned Journal with voice and text logging, and planned improvements to heart rate accuracy, workout auto-detection, and strength tracking.
Healthcare / IT Solutions
1 | Commure Raises $70M to Transform Healthcare Operations Using AI
Commure, a healthcare AI platform, raised $70 million at a $7 billion valuation in a round led by General Catalyst, with Sequoia Capital, Morgan Stanley, and Kirkland & Ellis also participating. The company's platform focuses on automating administrative and revenue cycle management tasks, processing tens of billions of dollars in annual payments with over 85% of work completed without human intervention. The new capital will be used to scale its platform across specialty practices and hospitals, improve its AI infrastructure, and expand into international markets.
2 | Swoop Acquires Nimble, Adding Prescription Fulfillment and Pharmacy Connectivity
Swoop, a healthcare data and engagement company, acquired Nimble, a prescription management platform used by 16 million patients across independent pharmacies. The deal adds prescription fulfillment and adherence capabilities to Swoop's existing suite of audience targeting and patient engagement tools, with the stated goal of connecting marketing signals more directly to real-world patient actions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Women’s Health / Femtech
1 | PMOS (Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) is the new name for PCOS
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) has been officially renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), following a 14-year collaborative process involving more than 50 patient and professional organizations and over 22,000 survey responses. Researchers and advocates argued the old name was misleading, as the condition does not actually involve an increase in abnormal ovarian cysts, and that this contributed to missed diagnoses and inadequate care for the roughly 170 million women affected worldwide. The new name will be fully implemented in a 2028 international guideline update, supported by a three-year education and awareness campaign.
Aspira Women's Health and Cleveland Clinic signed a collaboration agreement to jointly research and develop AI-powered diagnostic tools for women's health, with a focus on biomarker discovery, clinical validation, and multiomic analytics. The partnership aims to improve diagnostic accuracy for conditions including ovarian cancer, and establishes a framework for future commercialization of next-generation diagnostics. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Longevity / Healthy Aging
1 | Prema Cognition raises $740k to advance earlier digital dementia detection
Prema Cognition, a Cambridge-derived digital health startup, has raised $740k in a funding round led by SFC Capital to advance PREMAZ, a digital cognitive assessment platform designed to detect early signs of dementia years before conventional tools can. Built on research from the University of Cambridge Memory Lab, the platform is deployed across 30+ clinics in the UK and US, with plans to expand into broader healthcare and research settings. The funding will support clinical dataset expansion, regulatory progress, and wider deployment, positioning the company at the forefront of digital early-stage brain health detection as new dementia therapies increasingly depend on earlier patient identification.
Oura is advancing its digital health platform with the launch of the Oura Ring 5, its smallest wearable yet, featuring expanded health monitoring capabilities including blood pressure pattern tracking, nighttime breathing analysis, and an AI-enabled care partnership with on-demand healthcare platform Counsel Health, available across 43 U.S. states. The company's evolution from a sleep tracker into a proactive, preventative health platform has driven significant growth, with Oura on track to surpass five million paid members and projecting close to $2 billion in 2026 revenue. Separately, Oura has confidentially filed a draft IPO prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, though the company has not specified a timeline, stating the listing will proceed after SEC review and subject to market conditions.
